Totally Bitchin' - Anza Borrego
As many of you know I've been spending a lot of time with my favorite photographers, Josh and Melissa Mitchell of Continuum Photography. Ever since our first meeting I had a good feeling about these two; we share the same principles, ethics and vision. We seem to have developed a rhythm - we dream up a shoot, execute it and celebrate by capping off the night with a burrito and beverage. Half way though we come up with another wild concept that needs execution. See the vicious loop? This is how this shoot came to be. We spent 3 very hot days in the desert on the original Bad Ass Photo Retreat back in March and one of our models suggested we meet Jenny. Enter Jenny - heart of gold. I don't know how else to describe Jenny but to simply say she's every man's dream and woman's too! She's all smiles, full of positive energy, charisma, confidence and mad style. No, really. Who can pull off a silver body suit? Who I ask? That's right, no one but our Jenny!
Jenny's makeup is consisted of a light veil of Temptu's S/B airbrush foundations in #3 as a base, #1 as highlight and #10 as shadow, MAC Prep and Prime Translucent Powder, Nars Laguna bronzer, MAC blush in Peaches on the very tops of the cheek bones, Laura Mercier Light Blonde Brows & NYX Strawberry liner on the lips. Eyes were lined and smudged with MAC Kohl liner, Kryolan Aqua Colours in yellow covered with MAC Canary Yellow in a blended circle centred on the lid, MUFE Star Powder 941 on the inner corners and a generous coat or two of Diorshow mascara.
I knew Jenny had turquoise hair but I wanted to add some dimension. Since Jenny is so rad she let me chalk her hair yellow, orange, green, blue and purple. Talk about an easy going free spirit! Next I waved it out with a flat iron and sprayed it. It stayed looking all 90's prom-like till we reached our location in Anza Borrego, an hour+ drive but worth every minute. Upon arrival we shook it out.
